  On the long journey back from Bangor to Derbyshire, Country Cooks was a fantastic place to take a pit-stop and recharge the batteries. A large car park bordered by the beautiful Welsh scenery, runs up to the expansive restaurant. Tidy looking on the outside, with well kept surrounding borders and impeccably clean on the inside. A nice touch on the inside is that the kitchen is open onto the seating area, so you can see your food being prepared. The seating is mainly American diner booth type with smart green check. A copious menu for both drinks and food, with some cracking breakfast and brunch dishes, the full English looked fantastic. Prices were very reasonable too. The local postman popped in for a late breakfast and a chat with the owner, which is a good sign. Clearly somebody was a big fan of cats too, they were hundreds and hundreds of every possible depiction - ceramic, toy, ornaments etc - an impressive collection.
